Sending feedback
The feedback button sits on every page. Use it for the product itself — a view that is confusing, a number that looks wrong, something you wish existed.
Signed in versus anonymous
You can send feedback without an account, but the two are genuinely different:
- Anonymous feedback is one-way. It is read, but there is no way to reply to you and nothing for you to come back to.
- Signed-in feedback is a thread. Your message, the reply, and anything further, in one conversation you can return to at
/feedback.
If your feedback is a question, or the answer might be "can you tell us more?", sign in first.
Thread status
A thread moves through four states: new → open → answered → closed. "Answered" means someone has replied and is waiting on you; "closed" means it is done.
Writing something actionable
The reports that get fixed fastest say three things:
- Which page — the URL, not a description of it
- What you expected
- What you saw instead
For anything involving numbers, include the filters and the time window. A great many "this looks wrong" reports turn out to be a UTC/local-time difference or a data-delay gap, and the filters are what make that obvious at a glance.
Feedback versus issues
| Use | For |
|---|---|
| Feedback | The product — a confusing page, a missing feature, a bug in the UI |
| Issues | The data — a wrong location, a stale record, a bad detection |
If you can point at the record that is wrong, raise an issue instead: it is attached to that record, so it is actionable without anyone having to work out what you meant.
