Profile and settings
Your account lives at /profile. It has four cards.
Account
Read-only facts about your account: username, role, member since and last sign-in.
The role shown here is what decides which parts of the site you can open — see Accounts and roles. It is assigned, not self-serve; if you need staff, ask rather than looking for a button.
Email
Optional, and empty unless you set it.
Set one if you ever want to recover this account. Password reset works by emailing you a link, so without an address /forgot-password has nowhere to send anything and there is no other recovery path. You can clear the address again later, which also removes that ability.
Nothing else on the site emails you by default. Alert delivery is configured separately, per channel, in Monitoring.
RIPE Atlas API key
This is a RIPE Atlas key, not an Atlas one, and it grants you nothing here. It exists so your dashboard can read your credits, your hosted probes and your owned measurements from RIPE on your behalf.
Generate the key in your RIPE Atlas account, paste it here, and use the Test key button before you rely on it — a key RIPE rejects surfaces on the dashboard as a gateway error rather than an obvious "wrong key" message.
The stored key is shown redacted afterwards. Clear removes it, which leaves the dashboard's personal sections empty but breaks nothing else.
For the platform's own API credentials, see API keys.
Change password
Current password, new password, confirmation. Changing it does not sign out your other sessions.
Where the theme toggle is
In the top app bar, not on a settings page. Atlas follows your operating system's light/dark preference by default and remembers an explicit choice locally, so it is per-browser rather than per-account.
WARNING
There is a page at /settings with "Dark mode" and "Email notifications" switches. Those two switches currently do nothing — they are placeholders that aren't wired to anything. Use the app-bar toggle for the theme, and monitoring channels for notification delivery.
